Over to the West into the province of Alberta, Rodeo enthusiasts will find the Calgary Stampede which is held in July and lasts for ten days. The Rocky Mountains run partly straight through Alberta which is also home to Banff National Park. Icefields Parkway is the main route straight through the Rocky Mountains and holds spectacular, landscape providing the best way in which to see the Rockies.

Further West is the province of British Columbia and the city of Vancouver which is highly cosmopolitan and experiences a milder climate in the winter months. British Columbia is home to the Rocky Mountains and two National Parks for those who love the outdoors. It is a major centre for both summer and winter outdoor sports.

Canada experiences the four obvious seasons which means very warm summers and very cold winters. For winter sports, November to February is ideal. Any way for exploring the cities and National Parks, the summer months furnish perfect warmth.

The best way to travel longer distances while in Canada is by internal flight. As it takes in the middle of 7-10 days to drive across the country, flying will allow more time to gawk and take in the sights. For shorter distances, renting a car is a good option. Petrol is far cheaper than in the Uk and sharing with others can cut these costs still further. Buses and trains should be booked in improve for the best fares.
