British Columbia - Just a little Story of How These little Birds Have Such a Desire to Be Home
Good morning. Now, I found out about British Columbia - Just a little Story of How These little Birds Have Such a Desire to Be Home. Which is very helpful in my experience so you. Just a little Story of How These little Birds Have Such a Desire to Be HomeMy son John always was concerned in pigeons, and it was decided he would buy two pairs. This stock was very well known in the area and the birds were getting on in years. The area they were from was about 400 miles from his place. I am talking about valleys and mountains, all watched by the hawks and eagles seeing for the poor bird that is lost. You must get the idea of what I am talking about.
Once this bird ventured up that valley towards the interior of British Columbia she was as good as dead.

John had been told to never let these birds out as they would just fly home no matter what.
He has a small pigeon loft with an outside run so the birds could have a small area outside so they could see the sky.
Of course human nature took it's course and the two pairs have had some beautiful babies. Naturally, he let these babies out of the pigeon loft to fly nearby when they were strong enough.
Unfortunately, Juliet, one of his breeding hens managed to squeeze her way out and we thought, goodbye forever. Her wings had been clipped so we view there was no way she would ever return. We view she would try to get back to where she had come from, and with the clipped wings she would be picked up by some hawk.
What else could we think, it is called nature. What occasion would she ever have, all was against her.
We are talking about a hobby here, pigeon racing.
I am sure you can understand the joy we felt, when, outside the pigeon loft, 2 and a half days later, there, she was sitting on top of the pigeon loft all bedraggled and seeing half dead. Our small pigeon hen.
Because she could see the sky while running in the pen, her instincts had guided her home.
We all know that with this hobby of pigeon racing, we all enjoy these moments.
Good fortune to all and great pigeon racing for the upcoming season
